I just started playing this weekend. And I must say GW pwns Wow
Anyways i was wondering If you should aim to get all of the skills you can from the skill trainer? And how long it would take to get all the skills (excluding the elite ones, just the ones u get from skill trainers). Cuz I just started at the top of the list of the skill trainer at yaks bend and have been working my way down.

Pick out the skills you like the look of for the time being. There are quests throughout the game which give skills as a reward which will save you having to spend gold at trainers. The cost of buying skills really adds up so check wiki to see if you can acquire the skills you like from quests and you'll thank yourself later.

Edit: The length of time it would take to get all the skills for your profession is up to you. If you unlock the skills by playing PvP and spending Balthazar Faction you can then buy those skills at any Skill Trainer in Prophecies (excluding Elites). You can always buy a Prophecies unlock pack from the online store and you'll be able to buy all non-elite skills for your character from any skill trainer providing you have enough gold. Whenever you buy a skill, the price goes up and caps at 1,000g. 1k per skill is pricey.

I did the mistake of buying many skills from the initial trainers way back when i first started playing, and regretted it when I saw I could get the skill for free by doing a side quest later in the game. I'd recommend only buying the skills that you NEED. By the end of the game, most of the skills would be unlocked if you did all the side quests. At that point buy the left-overs if you want all the skills. Doing quests to unlock skills save you thousands of gold in the long run. Hey welcome to the game and have fun, hope to see ya in game.

You have to find a good balance between spending gold and skill points to get skills and having enough gold to get the better armor/weapons when they become available.

Generally speaking, you are better off sticking w/ a few "always useful" skills initially than the more specific skills you might get later.

^ty, ty.
Another question, I was reading on one the wiki's that the price of skills increases as you buy more. Is this per trainer or for all the trainers combined?
Like if i bought 10 skills from a trainer it would cost me 200, would it still cost 200 if i went to a different trainer?

I doesn't matter where you buy them, the price of skills goes up until it hits 1K. It never gets higher than 1K

the prices are the same at every trader, but the more skills you buy, the more the price goes up at EVERY trainer...i agree with others in that only buy what u need...1k gets pricy in the long run...its always nice when your making a build and find out a skill is only costing you 200g instead of that 1k...also buying the skills from the ingame store is GREAT!!!...i tried it and i've rly liked it...especially if you have nightfall, with the hero's to use the skills you've unlocked immediately. hope this helps
